Quito mercado

I am staying at a charming little posada in Quito. It is quiet and clean and located in the middle of everything. I got in at 1 AM so I am a little bleary still. I spent the day with my Spanish teacher Daniela. After talking online for two years, we finally meet face to face. She has been a lot of fun. We walked around the city especially in the markets. We bought some fruit (see below) that I had never seen before. The market was full of interesting foods. After, we went to Daniela's brother's restaurant. Fantastic food--especially the fish in a salsa sauce. I want to see everything but I have to be careful of the altitude. I don't want to get sick like I did in Cuzco so the rest of the day I just hung around.

Cherimoya--I tried this and it was gerat

Grandilla--Tried this too--delicious!
